Meet Dr. Joseph Vistitsky
Let me tell you my story.
Years ago something happened to me that changed my life forever. “I’m a personal trainer at the time, and life is good. I’m working hard, and doing the best job I can.
But, then it happens… during a tough game of racquetball, I suddenly get a terrible pain in my back. The pain in my back is so intense I can’t walk, sit or even lie down. To make things worse, when I cough, pain shoots down my legs like an electric shock. But, that’s not all. After several days, nothing is better. I visit the doctor. I’m afraid I’d lose my job if the problem continues.
Scared of surgery and injections I decide against those options. But, there’s more…
Finally, a friend convinces me to give his doctor a try non-surgical and natural approach. This new doctor does an exam, takes some films, and then ‘adjusts’ my spine. The adjustment doesn’t hurt, it actually feels good. I get relief, and I can stand much straighter.
Oh, and by the way, that new doctor is a chiropractor.
After several weeks of chiropractic adjustments and back strengthening exercises I ‘m able to return to work pain-free. Chiropractic works so well for me, and I’m so impressed with the other ‘miracles’ I see in his office, that I eventually go to chiropractic school myself.”
Eight years later in 1985, after 4 years of University of Illinois and 4 years of National College of Chiropractic I received my professional degree and license to practice chiropractic in a state of Illinois.
When my daughter was born in 1985, I moved to Buffalo Grove and opened my private practice in Arlington Heights, IL. My kids are grown up now one graduated from college and one in college, but I am still loyal to this town and my patients.
Even though I haven’t changed my ZIP code, my practice is always evolving. It is important to me to stay on the edge of new developments and research.
I trained through Motion Palpation Institute in 1986–1999; I am Certified Active Release Techniques provider since 2000; has been involved in post graduate training in Matrix Repattering treatment with Dr. George Roth in Canada and recently began post graduate studies in Chiropractic Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation.
I’ve been specializing in treating chronic headaches, fibromyalgia and carpal tunnel syndrome, helping elderly patients to reduce chronic pain and improve quality of life, without drugs or surgery. Also I like working with amateur athletes such as triathletes, weight lifters, golfers and runners to stay injury free, extend their sport careers and improve performance.
My professional interests are in chiropractic functional neurology and rehabilitation, chronic pain disorders, sport injuries and conditioning. Also I’ve been doing an important work with kids who have ADHD, L.D. and other developmental disorders, to dramatically improve quality of their life and help families to understand nature of these problems and how to assist kids to overcome these challenges.
